I'd like to use Family Shield (open DNS), but the router user name and password provided by Verizon are not working. I do not know if many years ago I reset a username and password for the router. We just upgraded with 99 dollars to the new actiontec router. If you type one letter into the password box, then 3 dots appear. Can anyone help?

What are the default user name and password for my Actiontec MI424WR router?The default user name for the Actiontec MI424WR router is "admin," and the default password is "password" (do not include the quotation marks).
- Note: To improve security, your router password may have been changed to the serial number of your Actiontec MI424WR router if you hadn't previously changed the password from the default of "password." You can find your router's serial number on the label affixed to the bottom or back of your router.
- If you reset your router to the factory default settings, the router password will return to "password."
The user name and password are both case-sensitive, so be sure to enter them in lower case.
