Honestly, I don't know if that will improve things at all. The best advice I can give you is to purchase a router that has a dual band - or at the very least wireless N - option, hardwire it to your Actiontec in what's called "bridge mode," use that router for wireless and turn the Actiontec's wireless signal off. You'll get much better speeds. It doesn't have to be an expensive router either. Or, if you have a local FiOS store, bring in your Rec. C Actiontec, tell them it's broken and that you need a replacement. They shouldn't charge you anything for that.
