It took a bit, but it does work. Heres what I did.

Step 1 : Have verizon tech support swap you from coax to ethernet on the ONT

Step 2 : Connct both  coax and ethernet to your Actiontec router

Step 3 : Use the firewall to port forward both IPSEC as well as PPTP to your dedicated vpn server

I have a belkin sharemax n300 running tomato USB acting as my torrent server, web server ( lighttpd ) , ssh tunnel server, ftp server, SMB server, and pptp vpn server. It was a pain but everything does work. The belkin is hosting everything through optware and the built in tomato services. Im conected as follows :

------ Cat 5  WAN -----------------> Actiontec Verizon router ------> Belkin N300 Server

-------Coax ( F pin cable line ) ---- --------^

I have all tv guides working along with my server services. It takes a bit to configure everything on the actiontec, but its worth the wait.  Every service has to be forwarded that you want to use ...UGH. I tried PPTP alone but it wasnt working. Once I added IPSEC to the actiontec forwarding to the belkin, everything began working seamlessly. Im using the built in PPTP server that comes with TomatoUSB. It wasnt worth the hassle of creating openVPN keys for me. This is just a home setup.

I hope this helps !!!
