I have my Xbox connected to my FIOS router in order to connect to Xbox Live as well as stream movies from my PC upstairs. The Xbox is connected to the router via CAT5 cable, and the computer connects to it wirelessly. Twice now I've been watching a streaming movie and the Xbox's connection drops completely. When this happens not only is it unable to see my computer but it is dropped from Xbox live as well, and if I go into network config I can tell that it is not even detecting a wired connection anymore.
Additionally on the router itself none of the LAN ports are lit regardless of whether or not a cable is plugged into them, even if I plug the same cable into itself, like plugging one cat5 into port 1 and port 2. Now, when I plug the Xbox cable into the WAN port though the xbox at least detects there is a cable plugged in, though it obviously cannot use that port.
I've not changed any of my default router or internet wifi settings...very confused here!
