You might want to do that, or alternatively if it's just for one computer, simply wire up a port. If Coaxial is available, MoCa can be used to get a Wired data connection to that room without running additional cable, provided the coaxial is in good shape. If your Wi-Fi signal goes from very strong to dead by simply walking into the room, I suspect you either have a nasty interferer or something such as aluminum is in the walls for insulation, which makes the room an effective faraday cage. Reloating the router closer to the room may fix that if it isn't too much of a problem to do.
