I suggest you order online. You'll see exactly what they are offering you and can decide if you like the deal. Verizon often offers a $5 discount or free activation for online ordering, as they don't have to pay for the rep to type everything into their system.
Years ago I had a Verizon phone representative promise to match the $5 month online order discount, only to not get it. A long phone call after my first bill got me the discount, but I've learned my lesson and now do not trust what the phone representatives say. You'll see countless other stories on this board about similar problems. That's why I suggest you order online.
I've no experience with the stores; but anytime there is a human who is motivated to "close the sale," I get worried. If you go to a store, make sure you get *everything* in writing.
Once you get the service installed, you most likely be pleasantly surprised at how good it is. You just have to jump through the ordering hurdles.
Good Luck.
