A little reseach would reveal Verizon wireless can not deliver 75M wireless even with the $100 upgrade. A wired connection is needed for 75M+ speed and faster. Verizon certainly takes advantage of the unknowing customers. Verizon used to just upgrade the router to the N version for no additional charge. I got the free update a few years back. Now note they change $4.99/month to new customer for the router and they jacked up the price from $80 to 100$ late last year for existing customers. But do you believe everything the car sales man tells you or do actually look up the sticker price the dealer pays when he buys one car from the manufacturer?
Verizon in my opinion is certainly taking advantage of unknowing customers, but customers really should educate themselves when purchasing a product or upgrade.
All successful companies do this, for example Dunkin' Donnuts was not giving out publicized free donut on National Donnut day unless you bought a bevereage and specificly asked for the free donut.
Verizon is in business to make a profit just like Dunkin' Donuts which may or may not be in the best interest of the customer.
