How do I turn off the SON feature?

Hmm. The Motorola adapter should have worked, as long as it was set to operate on the same MoCa channels that the Set Top boxes expect (Above 1Ghz). You do have to reboot the set top boxes sometimes, after changing out your router.

For a FiOS router, you can probably find G1100s on eBay if you don't want to buy right from Verizon. Make sure the router you get does not have Frontier firmware, though.

It is false. The tech won't be changing what port you're connected to unless they are required, per engineering, to change what tap you're connected to when they run another Fiber run. Chances are the tap is on the same PON and OLT.

What is the frequency rating on the Coax splitters between your router and the extender?

When changing your router, perform a DHCP Release on your old router just as you're about to turn it off. This can be done from the router's web interface. Once complete, you can connect the new router. Otherwise, you'll need to wait a few hours for the IP Address lease to expire before the new router works.

If you're using Coax for the WAN connection between your ONT and router, run some Ethernet (CAT5e cable) between your ONT and router instead. Have Verizon Tech support switch your WAN connection to Ethernet. If you do this, getting self install Gigabit should be a  lot easier. Your ONT is already a GPON ONT and is ready for Gigabit.

I Called Motorola support and he said I would need 2 MoCA adapters to make it work.  Not worth the brain power or the money to do that since I can get Fios routers on eBay for half the price of one MoCA adapter.

With the Fios router I am going from LAN from my router to WAN on the Fios router

With  MoCA adapter it is LAN to LAN.

I feel like this is a problem.

54-1675 MHz.  MoCA 2.0  -3.5dB.

I have a 2nd splitter (not currently in use) that came with the extender. Only difference is the Outs read -4.0dB.

FIOS 1 gigabit Plan - Capped at 100mbps

Hello,

I am a new subscriber and had FIOS installed last month with the new white router and 1 gigabit Internet Plan. It turns out after a month I have been capped at 100mbps. I was on the phone for over an hour and a half yesterday trouble shooting with customer service but with no luck. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 a tech cannot come into my house to fix it. One came today and tried his best by talking me through it outside my house - but he seems to think it's the wiring; as we swamped out another Router and was still getting the same 100mbps speeds. He ruled out the Router when he ran a 100ft ethernet from outside into the back of the Router WAN input and I was finally achieving close to 1GB speeds. Has anybody had this issue in the past and know of a quick fix or something? Is it wiring with the ONT box? I am not sure when a tech can even get back here and look at it inside, but it's frustrating paying for service that you are not receiving. Thanks!

If you got the speeds when the wiring was bypassed then it is the ethernet run from the ONT to your router. Things are going to be shut for a while so I would recommend picking up some ethernet wiring and re-run a new one from the ONT to the router.

I use the same setup as you and it works fine. I have a Ubiquiti router which connects to an ethernet switch then connect to the MoCA adapter. I also used a Verizon G1100 router in the past which also worked. The Moto rep was wrong about needing two adapters. That's definitely not true. The Verizon set-top boxes seem to like the 192.168.1.X subnet, so I would see if changing your router's subnet to that.

I have same issue. Website keeps asking me to install geolocation plug-in on Tropiocana Casino website which I know was already installed and working. Plugged my Gateway back in and it works fine. It's the G3100.

Can you add second router to setup VPN with the G3100?

I have a G3100 router and I want to know if I can add a second router to configure a VPN. I would be setting up a VPN so I can remote in to other computers at the house when I am not home. I have a Dell SOHO Sonicwall with the VPN capabilites that I can use. Is this possible with the G3100?

Any further info you can help me out with? Really curious that when this happens the LAN and WAN lights go off as well. That should not be , no? Cannot find ANYTHING about this on the internet or in any documentation. Thanks in advance

Is anyone else having issues with their Fios at the moment, because mine had been acting up for a bit now and I’m frustrated.   Just curious if anyone else is having as much trouble as me.

Really not enough info in your post. What issues are you having? At what times?

is it wifi (which is not guaranteed) or hardwired? Etc.
